Narrows Water Polo
16U and 18U Boys program 2023-24

We are excited to announce the 23-24 season for HS boys at Narrows Water Polo.  Narrows Water Polo has provided opportunities at all age levels in water polo for more than a decade.

What - An outstanding program for local U16/U18 boys to play at the club level, culminating in a Junior Olympic competition.

When - Beginning after HS water polo ends we will start skills sessions each Saturday and/or Sunday,  Then, when HS boys swim is over - 4 times per week practices to prepare for weekend tournaments.  We will travel to California and, possibly, Arizona to seek out opportunities for our players to develop.

Who - In order to play for Narrows Water Polo Club, you must have a current membership with USA Water Polo in good standing.  The gold membership is recommended as it allows you to participate in all tournaments and national events.  Narrows Water polo allows each athlete to try give our program a try for free. If interested in a free trial, please visit the USAWP website for a free 2 week USA Water Polo membership.  Email [email protected] with any questions.

Cost - Narrows Water Polo believes our program is very cost effective.  Cost will average approximately $190 per month while in full practice mode, and $60 per month during boys swim.   Tournament and travel costs will be managed on a case by case basis.  There will be a mandatory team suit, sweatshirt and t-shirt to purchase.  We generally utilize team parents to help order equipment and merchandise.

Where - we plan to use GHHS pool and PHS pool to practice.  We expect to travel to local tournaments and two tournaments in California and AZ in the Spring.

A few things about our program
1) It will not be easy.  Athletes will be pushed and, at times, you will not like it.  We hope that athletes enjoy hard work both mentally and physical.
2) Coach Aaron’s three rules - (As discussed in the practice with athletes)
3) Athletes will work together as a team to achieve success.  The focus will be on developing players as part of something bigger than themselves.  TEAM.

Suggestions for athletes
1) Participate in ODP
2) Participate in athlete development camps - Tony Acevedo etc.
3) The most important thing you can possibly do for your polo is…..participate in HS swim.
